Veterinarian
Dr. Simpson brings to the Foster Veterinary Clinic over forty years of experience in practicing Clinical Veterinary Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology and pursued his interests in science and medicine by earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. There he completed a student internship in Anesthesiology and then proceeded to develop his career with diagnostic, medical, and surgical duties as well as a range of community projects. He has written, edited, and published for audiences who seek to develop professional knowledge in veterinary medicine. He also writes to connect with the nation's wide array of pet owners. Dr. Simpson's projects in Rhode Island include hosting Pet Care on Radio WPRO 630 AM for over 35 years and serving as a member of the faculty at Providence College where he also served on the Building Committee for the Warwick Animal Shelter and on the Design Committee for the "Pets and People" exhibit at the Providence Animal Shelter. To balance his professional and personal strengths, Dr. Simpson participates in ultramarathon running (50 miles) and long-distance bicycling (100) miles. He also enjoys the outdoors with his wife, Jennifer, and daughters, Katy and Jillian.
